Guitar, Ukulele and Piano Lessons

Steven is a classically trained musician and music teacher with over 15 years of experience. While guitar is his primary instrument, he is also versatile in piano and other stringed instruments. He studied and taught music in the US and the Caribbean and has been an instrumental instructor for guitar, piano, ukulele and music theory over the course of his career. 

Originally from the Caribbean, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in the Performing Arts degree from the University of Trinidad & Tobago in 2016. During his time in the Caribbean he was a music teacher and performed as a soloist and with contemporary bands. He performed at the professional level in local jazz festivals as well as collaborating and playing jazz, pop and rock in bands and also Caribbean genres like reggae, soca, calypso and kompa.

Steven then obtained his Master’s Degree in Music Performance from Florida International University under the tutorage of Turkish guitar master, Mesut Ozgen – focusing mostly on music from Latin America and Western Europe as well as music history. While in Miami, he was able to perform as a soloist in the annual Miami GUITart Festival in 2018 and 2019 – performing alongside prolific and influential classical guitarists from around the world.”
